Code Enforcement
The Sparks Code Enforcement Officer helps maintain and improve the quality of our community by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program  of the zoning ordinance and related chapters of the municipal code. Code Enforcement is separate from the role of the Building Division. 

About Us
The Sparks Code Enforcement Officer enforces regulations related to the following:

  • Zoning ordinance requirements for structures (such as use and location) and land use requirements
  • Weeds on private property
  • Signs, including signs in the public right-of-way, failure to have required permits, illegal inflatable displays, etc.
  • Garage sales
  • Temporary Use Permits
  • Provisional Sign Permits
  • Home Occupation Permits 
  • Disabled vehicles on private property
  • Blight on private properties (i.e. old furniture, car parts, appliances, etc.)
  • Lawn parking and unpaved surface parking
  • RV parking/storage
  • Illegal dumping
